3rd Annual MS Poker Run The 4th Annual MS Poker
Run is tentatively Scheduled for the last Saturday - March 26, 2011. Thank you all for participating
in the 3rd Annual Multiple Sclerosis Poker Run. We earned
enough money to provide 4 slots for Hippo Therapy, assist
people with MS with Durable Medical Equipment and still
continue to assist our members with a monthly meeting. Thank
you to our sponsors, Thank you to those who participated, and a very special Thank you to the American Legion Riders of the American Legion Post #4 in Lakeland, You are definatly still riding and still serving.
The members of the Disabled American
Veterans Multiple Sclerosis Support Group would like to thank everyone for supporting/participating in our annual fund raiser. Many have asked what we do with the money, well, that's a good question. Along with the Disabled American Veterans, we support a monthly support group meeting
which provides food, educational opportunities about MS, and guest speakers. We supply cooling vest to our members and provide the opportunity for Hippo-therapy for those who may have a difficult
time walking. We supplied copayments for those who need
to go to the Nuerologist but didn't have the money. We
supplied canes, walkers and other items of need for those who may need such items. The money collected during our poker run stays here locally to support our members. We certainly appreciate the community and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #28's support.
